Taught Since: 2006 as a freelance dance teacher all over Stoke On Trent.
Qualifications: Katie has always trained in Street dance, (along with other style of dance such as Lyrical, House, Wacckiin, Krump & tutting) competed for a long number of years in her old schools, gaining 1st place champions title at the UDO Worlds Street dance competitions. Entering all the IDTA examinations and gaining the IDTA teachers level Award of Honour in 2009. Accomplishing the title of 3 Best Rated Dance Schools in Stoke on Trent 4 years running, & Best Dance School Award SME Awards 2020 & 2021.
About: Katie started dancing at the age of 3 as a ballerina, from the age of 11 Katie trained in street dance at Fahrenheit Dance Studio’s moving on with her training at Studio 1 and becoming a student teacher at age 14, Katie then opened SCDC in 2011 at the age of 19, Starting in a small village hall in Werrington, then expanding out to Bagnall village hall & Biddulph Village Hall all in August 2011, by December 2011 she held her first performance with a small group of children, and then in 2012 Opened another class in Burton area, running all 4 venues in just 12 months.
In August 2013 Katie found SCDC’S 1st home in Hanley, brining all 4 Venues to Hanley. By June 2019 SCDC outgrew its first home leading onto a much bigger and better studio in the existing location of Longton.
When opening her own School she wanted to inspire others to dance. Her passion is for kids to achieve the impossible & to see the ones who really struggle with confidence grow and blossom. SCDC is her life and all the incredible people that she has met along the way have made her the amazing person/teacher she is today.
